Blessing of the Animals Event is Oct. 3 under the Oaks at Broadmoor Presbyterian
Broadmoor Presbyterian Church will hold a "Blessing of the Animals" event on Sunday, Oct. 3, the day before St. Francis of Assisi Day, which honors the 13th-century priest known for his love of nature and animals.
The casual neighborhood event will take place from 4-6 p.m. under the stately oak trees of the church at 1915 Grover Place. It offers a time for members of the congregation and Broadmoor residents -- and their pets -- to visit and enjoy time together. Instead of a formal gathering, the Rev. Dr. Jim Freeman will offer individual blessings as he walks around to greet people and their leashed or carrier-housed pet(s).
There will be hot dogs and all the trimmings for the two-legged participants, as well as treats and water for the four-legged ones. Games like corn hole, four-square volleyball, spike ball and others will be available for the children and the young at heart.
The "Blessing of the Animals" event is hosted by BPC's Love in Christ and GROW ministries. For further information, call the church office at 318-868-3659.
